Looking to swith broker. Seeking feedback from experienced traders

I’m an active trader (mostly equities and some options, occasional futures) and currently exploring broker alternatives due to platform constraints and execution quality issues with my current setup. I’m looking for a broker that offers:

  • Low latency execution (ideally sub-10ms routing)
  • Transparent fee structure with competitive commissions or rebates (esp. for high volume)
  • API access (REST/WebSocket or FIX preferred) for order management and data streaming
  • Solid pre-/post-market access and smart order routing
  • Reliable short locate inventory and margin flexibility

Currently considering IBKR, Lightspeed, and TradeStation, but open to lesser-known firms with strong institutional-grade infrastructure.

Would appreciate insights from others who trade size or algorithmically, particularly in terms of real fill quality, API reliability, and hidden costs (e.g., data fees, order flow payment, etc.). Any red flags or personal experiences?

Thanks in advance.
