# Overnight positions in Forex are closed by IC-Markets

Hello,  
I have the following problem with IC-Markets: Overnight positions in Forex are closed by IC-Markets, with a big loss for me, sometimes with big gap even though the price has never touched this mark. Do you have an explanation for me? Thank you very much

Hello,  
Thank you for your message. There is a so-called “margin stop-out” rule, which is 50% at IC Markets (and all CFD brokers in the EU).  
This means that the system will automatically start closing your open positions if your account’s margin falls to or below 50% of the required margin.  
I think your problem is related to this.
